The “7.5 Square Meter Project” is an artwork in which the artist engages with the outside world through virtual online spaces during a seven-day performance. The artist uses platforms such as Weibo, QQ, Art International, Art-ba-ba, Baidu forums, and online newspapers to explore current issues surrounding people’s living conditions and housing prices. The communication and information exchanged are printed and pasted on A4 sheets, which are then affixed to the outer walls of a 7.5-square-meter prefab house. By the sixth day, the information completely covers the inside and outside of the house. On the seventh day, the house is entirely isolated by the information, and the artist can only be seen through surveillance footage while continuing to communicate with the outside world.

After the seven-day performance, workers are brought in to dismantle the prefab house. The exterior wall frames, household items, and waste produced during the seven days are sent to a recycling station for compression. The final result is a 1-square-meter block of iron, which is then transported back to the exhibition space for display.

Just like how society addresses this issue, the problem remains unresolved, merely changing form but continuing to exist.
