“Maotian Mountain” reflects the fragmentation and disappearance of an era through the industrialization process in the Chengjiang region. The once-thriving factories and industrial ruins here bear witness to the trajectory of social transformation. However, with the passage of time, the relocation and abandonment of factories, the once-vibrant memories gradually fade like bubbles, eventually collapsing and dissipating.
Through performance, imagery, and other media, the artist presents the conflict and loss of individual and collective memory, exploring the drift and disappearance of memory in the flow of history. From performance to video, from installation to sound, through the recreation and transformation of the factory ruins, the artist aims to provoke the audience to reflect on issues of identity, memory preservation, and loss in the context of changing times.
